As the previous answer mentioned Sony i would agree with it. I purchased the 40in W series Sony and am more than happy with it. Also if you shop about you will be able to get a good price for this as it is soon to be replaced, i paid £1,800 at the beginning of the year but you can get it for as little as £1,400 now.
id say sharp they have been very advanced in lcd technology. sony 40″ is very good as well . i wouldnt pick philips or lg. toshiba is also great as is samsung. oh and sony makes lcds not plasmas , two totally different types.
I just buy a brand new sony 42 inch lcd (plasma)tv. it has high def picture quality.i am so happy.
Go with a Samsung, they are one of the best. Philips is the #1 most repaired and serviced tvs. Check some side by side comparisions between samsung and sony at sears.com. Samsung is an amazing picture for an amazing price. I just bought the 46 inch Samsung LCD at sears, and it blows the sharp out of the water. Good luck!
